Prototypes & testing
After benchmarking laptops and monitors average dimensions and then modeling in chip board, testing was conducted with intended materials. Both aluminum and steel sheets with the final dimensions were tested with a 25lb monitor resting on top of the sheets while suspended.
Although 0.0625" steel sheet offered more versatility in bending options without adding substaintial thickness, 0.125" aluminum sheet was the strongest and most durable. Additionally, the 0.125" aluminum sheet is about 25% lighter than the next best option, the 0.0625" steel sheet.

Prototypes & testing
After iterating on various forms, physical models were made. 3D printing helped in understanding the geometry and feel of the opener. The metal prints were tested on bottles to further refine the exact dimensions and angles needed to open a bottle by maximizing surface area contact with the bottle cap to require less force to open.
